**Egypt has no visa page of any kind on this site until now. The essentials: Egypt's own e-Visa portal, visa2egypt.gov.eg, run by the Ministry of Interior, names India directly on its list of eligible nationalities and prices the Tourism e-Visa at $30 for single entry or $65 for multiple entry — stated in the portal's own words, read on 28 August 2026. That is a separate, cheaper system from the rupee-priced sticker visa the Egyptian Embassy and Consulate in India process through BLS International, which runs to roughly double the e-Visa's cost once its own service fee is added.**

## What the official e-Visa portal actually charges

Egypt moved to an online e-Visa system run directly by the Ministry of Interior, at visa2egypt.gov.eg. Its own FAQ page — read in English on 28 August 2026 — states the fee schedule in exactly these words: "1. Tourism Visa: Issued for single or multiple entries to persons whose nationalities require visas to enter Egypt." Then, in its own fee table:

The portal quotes only US dollars — no rupee figure appears anywhere on the page. At the 27 August 2026 ECB reference rate (₹95.54 per USD, via frankfurter.app), that converts to roughly ₹2,866 for single entry and ₹6,210 for multiple entry, an indicative planning figure rather than a fixed number the portal itself sets, since payment happens by card at the live exchange rate your bank applies on the day.

## Is India actually eligible? Yes — named directly

Egypt doesn't grant e-Visas to every nationality automatically; its own FAQ states the rule first: "A citizen of a foreign country, wishing to enter The Arab Republic of Egypt, generally must first obtain an e-Visa via the Egypt e-Visa Portal. Nationals of the countries listed below may be issued with an e-Visa upon application on the Egypt e-Visa Portal." That list — checked directly on the portal's own English FAQ — runs alphabetically from Albania to Vietnam, and India appears in it, sitting between Iceland and Iraq. Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are also on the same list, alongside most of the EU, the US, UK, Canada, Australia and Japan.

## What you actually need at the airport

The portal's own FAQ lists the same requirements regardless of single- or multiple-entry: a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival, a printout of the e-Visa itself, a travel itinerary, a supporting letter (a company letter for business travel, or an invitation letter for a business or family visit), and — specifically for anyone entering as a tourist — hotel bookings or details of the places being visited. The portal's own "How to Apply" page lays out the process in nine steps: create an account, sign in, fill the application form, choose the visa type, submit, pay by Visa, Mastercard or other debit card, wait for email approval, then download and print the e-Visa before presenting it to the immigration officer on arrival. The same portal states applications should be created "at least 7 days before your departure."

## The other route: the Embassy and Consulate in India, a different price entirely

Indian applicants who'd rather get a sticker visa in their passport, instead of a printed e-Visa, go through the Egyptian Embassy in New Delhi or the Consulate General in Mumbai — processed via BLS International, the outsourced visa-application partner named on both offices' behalf inside India. BLS's own published price list for Egypt is a separate rupee schedule, not a converted version of the government's dollar fee:

That puts the embassy route at roughly ₹4,500 for single entry or ₹8,500 for multiple entry — noticeably more than the e-Visa's ₹2,866/₹6,210 indicative range, for a sticker in the passport rather than a printed document. BLS also separately lists an "Entry Visa" category (for joining family, or attending a conference, workshop, internship or festival) at ₹8,000 single / ₹10,500 multiple plus the same ₹500 service fee — a different purpose-of-travel category from the Tourist Visa line, not a cheaper alternative to it.

## What this page could not confirm

Several travel-guide sites describe a conditional Egypt visa on arrival for Indian passport holders — typically requiring a valid, already-used US, UK, Schengen, Australian, Canadian or New Zealand visa, GCC residence, or membership of an organised tour group of ten or more with a travel-agency guarantee letter. The Ministry of Interior's own e-Visa portal, read fully for this page including its FAQ and How-to-Apply sections, makes no mention of a visa-on-arrival product at all — every page describes the e-Visa exclusively. BLS International's own FAQ page for Egypt vaguely states Indians "can apply for an Egypt Visa On Arrival if you meet the requirements" without naming those requirements anywhere on the same page. Given that gap between a specific secondary claim and silence on the one official source checked, this page treats visa-on-arrival as unconfirmed for Indian travellers rather than repeating it as settled — the e-Visa is the route this page can actually stand behind.
